Day 37: Renske arrives on the Sunday morn (08/07/12)

We drenteled (Dutch word) around Cairns airport like parents nervously awaiting the arrival of their first-born. Wait a minute! We were expecting the arrival of our first-born, but she is 32 now and quite capable of making her own way in the world. It was early Sunday morning, and Renske had been flying most of the night.
Here is Renske! Bright and bushy-tailed at 8 a.m. after an overnighter from Perth!

Setting up the supposedly leak-proof tent which we had grabbed from the attic unchecked back in Launceston. Needless to say we dumped it after one night. Sorry - whoever it belonged to!!

Claire Byl had reminded us that the Cairns church would meet at 2:30 p.m. This gave Renske time to sit back and catch her breath.
Then we went to another service in the Cairns church, followed by coffee and discussions as before. There were new people to meet and we were beginning to feel quite comfortable as we spent our third Sunday with the Cairns Group.
The community hall in Trinity Beach where the Cairns Free Reformed Group meet.

Joke and Renske at coffee. Note the cheerful wide-awake grin on Renske...

A selection of Cairns members chatting over coffee.

In the hall. Note Joke holding Jolene Byl's baby Nadia. Hmmm, a granddaughter might be required. Any volunteers? :-)
